I don't think there is any one way to tell if someone is lying. It helps if you know the person. It is easier to know if your partner is lying to you rather than a complete stranger.

On the other hand, with some people you know when they are lying , their lips move.

One way reliable way I've found to spot a liar is to look at their facial muscles. When someone is lying they tend to overly relax their facial muscles. So if someone is telling you a story and you notice that their forehead and jaw is very relaxed they are probably making a conscious effort to look relaxed in attempt to hide their lie.

Focusing only on visual cues will not help in spotting a liar, as was mentioned in the post above. Relying on only one thing, in all aspects of life, won't get you very far, and it is good to have other sources in order to obtain a better chance of success.

One thing this post didn't mentioned was the length of some liar's lies. Sometimes, the liar tends to talk more, giving you more details than you asked for, to make sure they will let you know everything. This is a big clue as to what is really going on in the liar's mind.

I found this quite interesting to read. What I want to know is how you can dismiss the things that appear near the start of your post as being wrong.

Just wondered what facts lead you to this conclusion?
